Teiger Foundation is a longstanding funder of the International Art Exhibitions of La Biennale di Venezia. The Foundation is proud to recognize the International Art Exhibition’s Artistic Directors–also known as its curators–for their significant work bringing new ideas and artists together to a platform of unparalleled visibility.

In Fall 2025, the Foundation confirmed two separate grants to support the realization of the 61st International Art Exhibition of La Biennale di Venezia, In Minor Keys, envisioned by the late curator Koyo Kouoh

The first contributes funds for exhibition production. Kouoh had defined the exhibition’s theoretical framework and selected its roster before her untimely passing in May 2025, and this gift supports Kouoh’s team–curators Gabe Beckhurst Feijoo, Marie Hélène Pereira, and Rasha Salti; editor-in-chief Siddhartha Mitter; and researcher Rory Tsapayi–in realizing her vision.

The second gift honors Kouoh’s artist-centered vision and networked curatorial practice through direct support for artists’ production of new artworks and their travel to Venice, and is administered by American Friends of Zeitz MOCAA. Artists and organizations participating in In Minor Keys can be found here

Our founder David Teiger began supporting the International Art Exhibitions in 2013 with a grant to Massimiliano Gioni’s The Encyclopedic Palace. A decade later, Teiger Foundation was the main donor for both the 59th International Arte Exhibition, The Milk of Dreams (2022), curated by Cecilia Alemani and the 60th International Art Exhibition, Stranieri Ovunque—Foreigners Everywhere (2024), curated by Adriano Pedrosa.
